Around Florida: Gainesville

This week, One Fat Frog takes a look around Florida and explores what it offers, and why it’s important that we’re involved.

So we have entered Gator territory. But to be honest, we value Gainesville like all the other major cities, as we should here at One Fat Frog.

What else is significant about Gainesville besides the University of Florida? Well a lot of things, actually. One huge thing is that Gainesville is home to one of the biggest medical centers in the Sunshine State: Shands. Being that it’s one of the only Level One Trauma Centers within about 100 square miles, having a medical centers like this one brings economical and educational significance to this place in Alachua County.

In 2007, a New York Times article stated that Gainesville is the number one place to live. To beat Portland, Oregon and Colorado Springs, Colorado–this is pretty significant. And to have Gator fans and tourists visiting Gainesville means that restaurants in Gainesville have a lot to gain. Whether it’s food trucks on the campus or getting some fancy sushi, the Frog is proud to keep Gainesville as one of our cities that offer free curbside delivery.
