Five Terms Every Would-be Beer Connoisseur Should Know, Part 5

There are many things that we at One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment enjoy in life. To crush our enemies, see them driven before us, and hear the lamentations of their women ranks pretty highly, but not as high as bringing our customers the widest selection of used restaurant equipment at the lowest prices. But one cannot live on value, selection, and customer service alone! No, occasionally, one also needs…

In honor of the greatest fermented beverage, the One Fat Blog will look at five terms that you may see on a six pack from that new microbrew – terms that you might not fully understand. Well, as sure as One Fat Frog offers free delivery to Tampa, Jacksonville, Ocala, and most of the Sunshine State, we can also help you understand your beer terminology.

5) Imperial. You can find this word plastered in front of almost any type of beer these days – Imperial IPA, imperial stout, imperial red, imperial pilsner – and I must admit that it makes them sound regal. But what does it actually mean?

Well, originally, it actually meant IMPERIAL, as in the Russian Empire. Back in the 1700s the Imperial Court drank a custom-made, extra-strong stout that they imported from England. Over the years, the meaning has come to cover just about any beer that is bigger—stronger, hoppier, more intense, more royal—than the beers that inspired them.

If you serve beer in your restaurant or bar (or in the restaurant or bar you want to open), One Fat Frog can help with more than just cool terms. We have keg coolers, bar sinks, bottle coolers, and everything else your bar will need to store, pour, and serve the perfect beer.

One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment wants all of our customers to succeed. That is why we offer such amazing benefits with all of our used restaurant equipment – free delivery, free custom paint jobs, free cutting boards with all used prep tables, free gas conversion, in-house financing, 30 day warranty on parts and labor – the list goes on and on. Nobody in the area even comes close to our selection, prices, and – above all – customer service.

If you are even considering opening up a bar, restaurant, food truck, or anything else in the food service universe, call or come by the store today. Let us help you get your dreams in motion.
