On Friday morning, a meteor streaked across the skies above Russia’s Urals region before exploding with a flash that shattered glass and left nearly 1,000 people hurt.
The explosion happened about 9:20am local time – when many people were on their way to work. A large chunk of the meteor has been found in a lake in the Chelyabinsk region.
Currently, as many as 725 people have sought medical help, with 34 of them hospitalized. It’s reported that about 20,000 emergency response workers have been mobilized.
This meteor comes on the same day a huge asteroid is set to pass by Earth at a fairly close range. Scientists are calling it a coincidence, but if you ask me, I think God’s upset that the new Die Hard is so awful.
