The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas may not be the healthiest place to dine, but it sure has an honest name. 54-year-old John Alleman, the restaurant’s unofficial spokesman, suffered a massive heart attack last week. Yesterday morning he passed away.
Restaurant owner “Doctor Jon” Basso stated that Alleman would visit every day and often stand outside for hours at a time, convincing others to come in.
“I told him if you keep eating like this, it’s going to kill ya,” Basso told the Las Vegas Sun.
Over the past year, Alleman became the restaurant’s mascot and was featured on the front of the menu. They even sold “Patient John” merchandise in the store and on their website.
This isn’t the first time someone has suffered a heart attack at the restaurant. In 2011, another spokesman for the restaurant died at age 29. IN 2010, a customer suffered a heart attack while eating a “triple bypass” burger. Another customer collapsed while a eating a “double bypass” burger.
Their menu includes the “most calorific burger” according to the Guinness World Record book, the “quadruple bypass burger.” I’ll stick with my “sissy” turkey burgers, thanks.
