City of Orlando Holiday Lights Is on the Way

Now that Halloween is over, department stores are selling off their candy leftovers to make room for all of that glittery Christmas stuff and heaps of fake trees. The official Orlando Christmas tree will be touching down on November 16. it’s coming all the way from the Sugar Mountain Nursery in North Carolina and measures in at a staggering 40ft tall! The tree lighting and dedication will be held on Friday, November 30th at 6:00pm as part of the Holiday Lights Orlando celebration at Lake Eola. The tree will be adorned with thousands of LED lights and all the other standard frills.

A musical stage production will accompany the tree lighting ceremony. “The Gift” by Trinity Lutheran Downtown will be performed by a choir. the production features traditional Christmas songs, arranged by Derick Johnson, the Conductor Emeritus of the Disney Candlelight Procession.

Following up this entertainment is the Gifts ‘n’ Goodies Shopping Village and a shopping area featuring arts and crafts from mission churches in Central Africa and Israel.
