Today would have been Julia Child’s 100th birthday. Chef, author, and television, personality, Childs is arguably the most influential chef of all time. Her debut cookbook, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking,” can be found in nearly every mother’s kitchen in the U.S. Her successful cooking show, The French Chef, debuted in 1963 and would go on to win several Peabody and Emmy awards. In the 1990s, Child also starred in Baking With Julia, Julia’s Kitchen With Master Chefs, and several other shows.
Her original kitchen can be visited at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
